- Start from the right (units place)
- Add digits in the same place
- Carry over to next place if sum is 10 or more
- Write down the digit and carry the tens
Example: 234 + 57
- Units: 4 + 7 = 11 โ write 1, carry 1
- Tens: 3 + 5 + 1 = 9
- Hundreds: 2 + 0 = 2
- Result: 291
