Adding 2 and 3-digit numbers is easy when we break it down! We'll work with:

1. Start from the right (units place)
2. Add digits in the same place
3. Carry over to next place if sum is 10 or more
4. Write down the digit and carry the tens

Example: 234 + 57

1. Units: 4 + 7 = 11 → write 1, carry 1
2. Tens: 3 + 5 + 1 = 9
3. Hundreds: 2 + 0 = 2
4. Result: 291

Subtracting 2 and 3-digit numbers is fun when you know how!

1. Start from the right (units place)
2. Subtract digits in the same place
3. Borrow from next place if needed
4. Remember: Borrowing means taking 10 from next column

Example: 324 - 57

1. Units: 4-7? Borrow → 14-7=7
2. Tens: 1 (after borrow) -5? Borrow → 11-5=6
3. Hundreds: 2 (after borrow) -0=2
4. Result: 267

• For two-digit numbers: tens + units (e.g., 25 = twenty-five)
